Nine players, coaches, and contributors will be inducted into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in September.
Among the inductees are Brooks Sweet, Doug Knight, and Casey Powell, whose careers include box lacrosse. Knight played for the Baltimore Thunder for two years, while Sweet was a three-time Major Indoor Lacrosse League All-Star. Powell played for five NLL teams between 1999 and 2011 and was an indoor all-pro four times and named the league’s MVP in 2010. Powell is also the only player in NCAA Division I lacrosse history to earn first-team All American honors at more than one position.
Other inductees include Leslie Blankin Lane, Jim McDonald, Jill Johnson Redfern, Robyn Nye Wood, and Don Zimmerman, as well as Laurette Payette, who has served as an official for 35 years.
The induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 23, at The Grand Lodge in Hunt Valley, Maryland.
