Baltimore AFL Announces Name
Baltimore Brigade Unveiled
Team Announces Name, Colors, and Logo
The Arena Football League’s Baltimore expansion team has announced its name: the Baltimore Brigade.
The primary logo features the letter B inside a pentagon shape, referencing the nearby Fort McHenry, the site of a battle in the War of 1812 that inspired the Star Spangled Banner. Two of the team’s alternate logos also feature the same shape. The team also unveiled the uniforms, featuring navy blue and white with an alternate set of gray uniform pants featuring Baltimore’s nickname, “Charm City”. Blank white helmets were used in the announcement with a final design to be announced later.
The Brigade are the second expansion team in the five-team AFL, joining the Washington Valor. The two teams are both owned by Monumental Sports & Entertainment, which also owns the Washington Capitals, Washington Wizards, Washington Mystics, and The Verizon Center. The Brigade opens its season at Washington on April 7.
