Canada Wins 2017 Heritage Cup

Defeats U.S. 19-6

Canada defeated the United States 19-6 in the fourth edition of the Heritage Cup.

Canada got off to a fast start, but the U.S. kept it close through the first quarter, trailing 5-2. Canada’s offense kicked into high gear in the second quarter, including five unanswered goals, and their defense held the U.S. scoreless in the third quarter. Two more Canadian goals in the fourth put the game away at 19-6.

Both teams are beginning preparations for the 2019 FIL World Indoor Lacrosse Championship, which Canada won in each of the four editions, and the U.S. came in third place each time.

This was the fourth time the Heritage Cup has been played and the first time since 2013, when Canada defeated the Iroquois. It will return in 2018, again featuring Canada and the U.S.
