The United States Indoor Sports Association has announced Damian Buchman as Keynote Speaker during the State of the Industry Breakfast of its 22nd Annual Facility Operators Conference & Tradeshow, May 31-June 3. in Nashville, TN. The Breakfast will also include an industry report from multi-facility owner John Burns of Sportsplex Management Group.
Cancer survivor, social entrepreneur, adaptive athlete and well-renowned speaker Damian Buchman is truly a one-in-a-billion survivor who has turned obstacles into opportunity, and the seemingly impossible, possible. Damian has endured dozens of surgeries, but none stopped him. Working tirelessly to provide others who face seemingly insurmountable barriers with motivation, tools and a voice, Damian is an unstoppABLE force who doesn’t know how to quit. John Burns is a former Assistant Professor at Ohio University, a Rhode’s Scholar semi-finalist, and All-American baseball player at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, inducted into their Hall of Fame in 1998. His company, SMG, owns indoor sports facilities in Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. He holds 20 years of industry experience, including specialized expertise in operating sports camps and leagues. He has helped create and institute various child development sports programs, as well as centralize operations, making expansion and acquisitions more fluid. He advises in the construction and development of new projects and is a member of USIndoor’s Advisory Board.
