NLL Suspends Season

No Timeline For Return

The National Lacrosse League joined other American professional sports leagues in suspending the season in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

The league made its announcement on March 12th, citing the best interest of its fans, players, coaches, and staff. The league was about two-thirds through the season of 18 games per team, with the playoffs scheduled to begin in late April. No timeline was laid out for a potential return.

The NLL joins other American sports leagues and events making postponements and cancelations in an effort to reduce the spread of the coronavirus. With average attendances around the 10,000 mark, many of its teams share arenas with those of other sports, including those in the NBA, NHL, and AHL.
