Medicine Ball Workouts
Medicine balls are valuable tools that can be used in power training, athletic performance training, or basic workouts.
According to Men’s Health, medicine balls are valuable because they can be used in a variety of different ways while typical gym equipment is used in only one or two ways. For example, an exercise in throwing a medicine ball can allow for variations in foot spacing and stance, which affects how muscle groups act on the ball. Similarly, hand positioning can be changed with the same effect.
These are multiplanar exercises. Traditional gym exercises often use motions in a single plane, but the addition of a medicine ball can add those planes together, which is most like real life movements.
