Crunch Win M2 Title
Defeat Wichita Wings for First Championship
The Cleveland Crunch won the 2021 Major Arena Soccer League 2 (M2) championship, defeating the Wichita Wings.
The Wings took an early lead just over two minutes into the game. The Crunch equalized seven minutes later and added a second before the end of the first period. Wichita never led again, giving the Crunch the 11-6 win and the championship.
The championship comes in the Crunch’s debut M2 season and the city’s return to pro indoor soccer since the original Cleveland Force (previously named the Crunch) folded in 2005. The indoor soccer history extended to the Wings, which are named for the original Wichita team that played from 1979 to 2001 and played against the Crunch in the National Professional Soccer League.
